THE SANDS AT NOMAD *****

The Sands at Nomad is 45 kilometers southwest of Mombasa International Airport and 4 degrees south of the Equator. The fauna of the coral reef of the turquoise ocean, the happy twitter of the birds living in the offshore forests and the white sanded beach make the holiday unforgettable. The Sands at Nomad offers a perfect place to escape from the swarming everyday life. This coast is the combination of discretion and restfulness. To be here is the right of privileged – as local people say – because this is the finest beach of Kenya and the third most famous beach of Africa.

The hotel is situated in the 26 hectare of virgin coastal forest. The Sands at Nomad is the compound of freedom and personal solicide instead of a traditional block of a hotel.

It was built in Swahili-style; its internal spaces have the characteristics of Italian art deco. The Arabian period furniture suggests some luxurious feeling and contribute to the perfect African sentiment.

• Forest View

Situated in the main building with luxurious view to the trees of the ancient coastal forest. It has spacious rooms. The reception is next to the pool and the beach.

• Sea Breeze

Direct view to the ocean. The rooms are not traditional: blue stucco walls, lamu style ceiling, Swahili doors and windows.

• Ocean View Double

Can be chosen with both one and two bedrooms. Closeness of water can be felt here as well. From its spacious own porch, there is a kingly view to the ocean. These rooms are ideal for families and friends.

• Beach Cottage

Incomparably Kenyan and incomparably romantic! The porch is covered with palm thatched roof and makuti achieving the absolute nomad feeling. The rooms, complying with the green lawn of the coast, open door to a truly romantic escape.

• Junior Apartment

It is situated on the first floor of the main building overlooking the pool. There is a unique view to the forest from here. One of its windows gives the spectacle of monkeys and birds while the other has a view to the beautiful beach, the ocean and the palm trees.

• Ocean View Superior Apartment

It is on the first floor only 20 meters from the beach. The apartment has a spacious bathroom with a bath and a shower. It also has a Jacuzzi, a private porch and the view from the antique Swahili beds to the ocean is breath-taking.

• Master Suite

This wonderful first floor apartment is also in the main building, beside the Junior Suite. There is a private Jacuzzi in the big bathroom and there is a heavenly view from the large porch to the beach and the pool.

• Beach Cottage Superior Apartment

Beach Cottage Superior apartment is a perfect choice for honeymooners. There is a luxurious feeling under the ancient Baobab trees. The private back garden makes this impression full with the open-air bathroom including the Jacuzzi and the sunbeds. The rotund thatched roof is almost soaring above our heads while our eyes are gliding back to the hanging garden and the rotund, carved stairway.

The central restaurant of the hotel can be reached through a private gateway. The restaurant offers rich tropical buffet breakfast. For lunch and dinner, the traveler can choose from a la carte or buffet meals.
